“I am voting for Maggie to represent District 2 on the hybrid school board for three reasons.
Maggie has skin in the game. She is a current CPS parent at a global majority school; she's a longtime LSC member; and she is committed to the success of populations CPS has not historically done well by: Black students, LGBTQ students, and diverse learners (which she also has direct experience with, navigating the system around needs for students with IEPs).
Maggie has deep Chicago roots. She is from here, she understands the city's history of segregation and disinvestment and will forge relationships across District 2 and the city to ensure the best for our children.
Maggie knows how to get things done. I respect her experience in the city and the Mayor's Office and believe that she can marry her vision for a more equitable school district with the reality of how to push for and enact policies to support that vision.
For me, there is no question that she is the best candidate, as she is is independent of the CTU and Mayor and is also not funded by out of state folks whose motives are unknown.”

“People should vote for Maggie because she is a great women to have in your life. She is willing to do whatever she can to help people get where they need to be. She is kind, caring, hard-working, a great mother and an amazing person. As an 11 year old I would fully trust her to be there for me, and stand up for me so that my voice is heard as a person of color.”

“Maggie is an incredibly thoughtful candidate that has the experience and commitment to serve on our school board. She is an expert in this space, and truly wants the best for our community, while remaining rooted in being a representative for our children - listening first. I particularly appreciate her stances on racial equity while balancing the reality of our communities. I cannot recommend anyone more highly!”

“I believe that Maggie is a strong fit for the school board and will work to ensure that there are stronger governance and transparency around decision-making. I had the pleasure of working alongside her as colleagues in the Mayor's Office. She was unafraid to speak up on key challenges and issues, and demonstrated a strong passion for equity and racial justice, all while being mindful on how to be an ally for various BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other vulnerable communities.”

“I’m supporting Maggie because I've see her fight the fight in our schools and in our community. Not for notoriety or accolades or political favors, only because it's the right thing to do. Maggie believes in helping EVERYONE - especially those who are typically marginalized within CPS because of race, economic background or learning challenges. Maggie truly embodies an ally who is extremely willing to LISTEN and LEARN then spring into action. She knows that, as a white women, she will be heard before Black & brown faces and uses her privilege to make sure we ALL have a voice for our children and families within CPS. Maggie is not interested in Chicago politics of old - her passion lies in having public schools we can be proud of and not just "wish" could be better. With Maggie as an elected school board member, what we wish for can be a reality. VOTE FOR MAGGIE CULLERTON HOOPER!”

“I am supporting Maggie because she ‘walks the walk’, she doesn’t just ‘talk the talk’. She has shown she is committed to the quality of our Albany Park neighborhood school by sending her children there and serving on the school’s LSC for a sustained period of time. She has brought her expertise working as a public servant for the City of Chicago to the school level. I think other CPS parents from District 2 should vote for her because she will take to heart the everyday concerns of CPS parents without losing sight of the broader challenges CPS faces.”

“With extensive experience in education policy and budget management, Maggie Cullerton Hooper is the advocate Chicago's school board needs. As a parent and disability rights activist, she understands the diverse challenges students face. Her comprehensive platform addresses critical issues like special education, LGBTQ rights, and equity for marginalized communities. Maggie's dedication to dismantling systemic barriers and creating safe, nurturing schools for all children makes her the ideal candidate to lead Chicago's education system toward a more inclusive future. I'm voting for Maggie Cullerton Hooper for a school board that truly represents all of Chicago's students.”
